How to Make an Impact During the First Month of Your Startup Job
Via @ericstromberg
Here is my interpretation:
- No one is going to tell you what to do.
- Get off your ass. Find out what needs to get done. Do it yourself.
- Don’t assume. Test out your ideas. JFDI.
- See what works, what doesn’t. Improve upon what works. Write it down. Share it.
- Record your observations about the company’s strategy when you have fresh eyes. See if you were right or wrong.
The most important (in my opinion and the reason why I love startup environment) is taking ownership. Assuming that to get something done, you have to do it yourself shows self-sufficiency/self-reliance. (You also have to play well with others too!)
