It’s so good to watch this again, as I need Job’s reminder to live your own life and follow your gut - because you can only connect the dots looking back. Death is indeed the best human invention; It forces me to evaluate where my life is going everyday.
I haven’t been posting as much, partly out of laziness but mostly because my life is taking a turn. I’m quitting my “safety job” by the end of November to travel to Hong Kong. I’m going to visit my extended family and also to build a product: me.
It’s like a mini-sabbatical where I get to intensely focus on only things that matter without distraction of a mind-numbing job. And hopefully when I come back to the US of A, I will have completed several portfolio products as I will be looking for a new job. A new job that will align better with my values. I’ve heard not having a safety net job will only help me hustle harder and smarter!
I’ve also begun an internet project called Curious Rebel. It has a Twitter handle, @Curious_Rebels and a bare bones Wordpress site. I’ve still yet to figure out a definitive branding for this so it’s moving pretty slow. Collaborators are welcome!
So here’s to a quick update!
Oh and BTW, I’m looking for job in think/do tanks and new media businesses doing research, writing, social media, online content strategy. I want to focus on sustainability, social entrepreneurship, solutions journalism, and collaborative consumption. Let me know if you hear anything!
